Sign in to Salesforce from Jira

In Jira Add-on Administration section via Salesforce Authentication option, authenticate Salesforce to Jira using the Salesforce integration user.

The Authentication to Salesforce is completed through a Connected App.

Starting from August 28, 2025 Salesforce requires that all Connected Apps are installed in the Salesforce Org

For more details, please refer to Prepare for Connected App Usage Restrictions Change

In order to install the Connected App for zAgileConnect, the following steps are required:

  1. Ensure that the user authenticating to Salesforce (Integration User) has one of the following permissions to enable authentication:

    1. Use Any API Client" permission, or

    2. "Approve Uninstalled Connected Apps" permission (available when API Access Control is not enabled).

  2. Sign in to Salesforce from Jira

  3. In Salesforce Setup go to “Connected Apps OAuth Usage“ and install the “zcapp production“ Connected App.

  4. Once the Connected App is installed, the permission granted in Step 1 is no longer needed and can be removed.

This should result in a 3-way authentication and connection between Salesforce, Jira and the zAgile ConnectApp
