At zAgile, we are committed to keeping zAgileConnect secure, reliable, and aligned with Salesforce and Atlassian’s evolving cloud platforms.
With the upcoming zAgileConnect 1.18 release, we will transition our Jira Cloud app from Atlassian’s Connect architecture, currently hosted externally by zAgile on the Salesforce Heroku platform, to the Atlassian's managed, serverless Forge platform. This change is necessary in preparation for Atlassian’s planned discontinuation of support for Connect apps on January 31, 2027.
In addition to meeting Atlassian’s platform requirements, moving to Forge will enable zAgileConnect to take advantage of Atlassian’s latest cloud security and data-protection capabilities. Benefits include:

What you should do now
No immediate migration action is required. However, we strongly recommend upgrading to the latest available version (1.17) of zAgileConnect by January 2027, and remaining current with future updates. This will put your organization in the best position for a smooth transition to the Forge-based version, especially if you are currently on an older version (1.14.x).
In addition to upgrading zAgileConnect to version 1.17, we also suggest moving to OAuth 2.0 for connection from Salesforce to Jira, since this will be a required step for 1.18.
We will provide additional information before the release of zAgileConnect 1.18, including the anticipated timeline, upgrade instructions, prerequisites, and any actions required from your Jira or Salesforce administrators.
